The Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (BRCOT) is proud to announce the appointment of Michael Bailey as its new Assistant Director. With more than 20 years of experience in education and a proven track record of leadership, Bailey will bring expertise, dedication, and a student-centered focus to his new role.
A graduate of the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Health Concentration), Bailey went on to earn a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from St. Joseph’s College. He holds Maine certifications as both a Building Administrator and a Health/Physical Education teacher. His career includes more than 20 years of teaching in secondary wellness, followed by leadership roles as an Assistant Principal. His professional service includes being elected Vice President of the Maine Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, where he coordinated statewide professional development and advocated for teachers across Maine.
Bailey is excited to bring his leadership experience and passion for education to BRCOT. “I look forward to working with staff, students, and families to support their journey in education,” he said. “I want to help students achieve their goals—whether that be going directly into the workforce, community college, armed services, or a university.”
Paulette Bonneau, Director of the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology, expressed her excitement for the newest member of her leadership team. “We are thrilled to welcome Michael to BRCOT. His strong background in both teaching and administration, combined with his deep commitment to supporting students’ success, will help us continue to provide high-quality career and technical education that prepares students for their futures. He will be an incredible asset to our students, staff, and community,” said Bonneau.
Beyond his professional career, Bailey enjoys supporting his two high school–aged children’s activities as well as hiking and exploring Maine’s outdoors.
